How much does ECIP cost?
The ECIP program is provided free of charge.
What do you do?
Provide in-home support to families with children who are delayed or at risk for delay. ECIP empowers families to goal plan, case manage and transition into Centre-based programs.
How long do we have to be in the program?
ECIP is a volunteer program where families choose what works best for them, however, children can remain on the program until transitioning into a centre-based program/Kindergarten.
Where do visits take place?
Most often visits take place in a family’s home, however, other locations such as daycare, school, therapy appointments or First Nation Clinic’s etc. can be alternatives.
How many visits can families expect?
Depending on a family’s level of need the service is designed to provide as much support as required; this means weekly, biweekly or monthly.
How long are home visits?
Families can expect a home visit to be at a minimum of one hour in length.
Do you provide transportation?
ECIP does not provide transportation, however, we will work with a family to find other options to ensure medical appointments and therapy appointments are not missed.
Do visits occur over summer and school breaks?
Yes home visits occur year round.
What areas do ECIPs travel to?
ECIPs are a Provincial program meeting families in many rural and urban locations. Search the website for further information.
What’s my role (parent/guardian) in the program?
A parent/guardian must be present during the home visit and participate to the best of their ability to goal plan and carry out suggested programming activities.
